Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own church community, and spreads throughout the world. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as weeding the church gardens to preparing the church communications to delivering food and clothing to the needy. There are many ways to serve at Cheltenham United Methodist Church. Speak with Pastor Herbert to see how you can get involved.

Mission Outreach

Cheltenham United Methodist Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in assisting attendees to their seats as needed, collecting the offering, assisting with communion, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women and children whose ministry is integral to church life.

Communications:

The communications team continues to share information about our church with the community. Our goal is to communicate a clear, complete and consistent message about Cheltenham United Methodist Church and the great work that we do here.  Check back often for updates to our web pages and Facebook. If you see an event or something on our Facebook page that you feel is useful, please SHARE it so that others can see what is going on. Your shares provide free advertising for the church. The newsletter will continue bi-monthly. It can also be found on the webpage. We will continue the prayer chain emails and phone calls. The pictorial directory is also continuously updated as changes are brought to our attention.  We value your feedback. You can contact Carole Beckley at

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, we lift up prayer requests for both joys that we share and troubles that we need help with.Throughout the wee

k, prayer requests are taken and sent out to a list of church members for prayer.
